Online Learning Courses for People with Disabilities
“IUS IT Network” and Interrelated Programs
In this project our NGO, ІУС, is going to organize a range of the learning courses for people with disabilities, most of which will be held online. The main focus is on the two main areas: IT sector and work at a call-center. We not only provide learning courses but also help our clients to get employed in either of these two spheres. For instance, those of our students, who complete the appropriate course program successfully, will get a job offer at a Monobank call-center.
Also, we are responsible for opening a barrier free remote (online) working place for persons with disabilities providing them with all necessary equipment and technical support both in learning and at work, by ensuring total web-accessibility. This is important as currently most of CRM-systems are either fully or substantially inaccessible for blind and partially sighted people. Therefore, our tech-professionals’ teem will solve this problem and, after graduating from the appropriate learning course, our students will be able to work at any call center in any marketing area and using any CRM-system. We will maintain a hot telephone line providing technical support and advice in a case of emergency.
Besides, those students, who complete a course program successfully, will be offered an opportunity to try themselves in our working practice project, IUS Job Incubator, by working at one of the two big companies: Farmasi and TAC-Insurance Group. During the trial period, our students will be well trained by the appropriate business professionals, so that they get a good chance to get employed within the company or find a job elsewhere, according to their preferences.
Our project also suggests an optional training course on Human Wellbeing for people with disabilities, designed in cooperation with the project “Hear the Doctor!” This learning course covers the key aspects of physical and psychological wellbeing, including: healthy diet, heart disease prophylaxis, mental health, sexual health, as well as orthopedics and traumathology, including the acute issues of dealing with traumas and injuries when doing sports, posture and motor disorders, physical training for healthy life. We expect that such knowledge can help our students not only better understand their own health and body but also get some useful skills of practicing healthy lifestyle needed for a successful career.
Also, we never forget about leisure and recreation activities, as well as about psychological support and legal advice to people with disabilities that are even more important in this hard time of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Our tourism specialist is going to help our clients find low-budget tours abroad, a certified psychologist will organize the monthly wellbeing sessions on different topics, and our legal advisor is going to hold juridical webinars, also once a month.
It is also worth mentioning that this project has two big peculiar features. The first is that nearly all of our teachers, assistants and other specialists are partially sighted or totally blind. And second is that all our online courses are always audiorecorded and placed in open access for students at our web-platform, IUS IT Network.
